I hate to admit it, but I’m starting to love visiting all these 2012 forums and find myself going to them more and more just to see what people are saying. I’m also thinking about building one on my own webpage because people are posting on these as if their life depended on it, and I could really use the added traffic. Actually, now that I think about it, some do believe life depends upon it, though I’m not sure why they feel like convincing everyone the world will end will help -- if it ends it ends, if it doesn’t, well, like I’ve said before, many authors are going to see a drop in royalty payments as bookstores print up hundreds upon thousands of $1.99 price tags for their 2012 books.
What I find most interesting about these forums is the extent people will go to either convince everyone around them that the world is going to end or to convince people that it won’t end. What is the point? If you think the world is going to end why spend so much time on a forum? Why not go and live life to the fullest? And if you are one of the ones that think the world isn’t going to end, why waste so much time trying to prove it won’t when all you have to do is sit back and wait -- plus, shouldn’t you be spending your days working and planning for the future since you believe there will be one?
The lack of knowledge about the Mayan 2012 theory is also startling. People actually think the Mayan calendar says “End of the World” on it (one both sides of the argument), when really it just ends. Also, there are people out there who think Nostradamus specifically says the world will end on December 21, 2012 when really that is all speculation based on some of the drawings in the Lost Book, drawings that would never had pointed upon the 2012 date without that date already being firmly implanted in a researches mine.
Warning - Stupid Thought: I wonder which search term is more popular right now: 2012 or SEX? I also wonder if there are any websites that blend the two together, maybe an adult site that has a 2012 forum? Now wouldn’t that be a goldmine?
Sorry, I couldn’t resist.
